“Château du Taillan Cru Bourgeois 2012” has a deep red cherry color with aromas of red fruits and light menthol notes. The wine is round and fresh with well-integrated tannins. A very charming vintage with a good long aftertaste and good finish. 70% of the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months. Only 20% are in new barrels and 30% in barrels that have had a wine in.

The wine goes well with red meats and cheeses that are not too strong.

Robert Parker says, “Du Taillan’s 2012 is certainly one of the more successful Cru Bourgeois that I have ever tasted.”

Château du Taillan has been a family-owned property since 1896, but today it is above all a modern history related to women. The castle is owned by five sisters from the famous wine family Cruse, where they each with their personality continue the castle’s history and passion for wine. The castle has renewed itself over time due to the feminine aura that the sisters bring. The wines are charming and strong (just like the sisters), where they run a sustainable farm and have 10-12,000 tourists visiting annually. Their wine cellar is classified as a historical monument!
